Lisk chain shutdown: what LSK holders should check today

What is happening. Lisk is closing the Lisk Chain on 31 October 2026. Lisk says it chose to commit fully to its new product. That product is a platform for business finance: accounts, payments and approvals in one workspace, across bank money and stablecoins. The LSK token itself is not being shut down.

Who needs to act. Only people who hold LSK on the Lisk Chain, or have it staked there. LSK on Ethereum or on an exchange is unaffected. Lisk's FAQ is blunt: once the chain shuts down, there is no way to withdraw or recover LSK left on it.

Why time matters. Lisk lists the steps. If you staked: unlock the position (there is no penalty now), wait 3 days, unstake and claim rewards. Then bridge to Ethereum. About an hour after the withdrawal you submit a prove transaction, then a 7-day challenge period runs, then you claim. The bridge alone takes about 8 days. With staking it is at least 11. Lisk told holders to start immediately. On that timeline a transfer begun on 31 October would not finish. That is our reading. The FAQ pages we opened offer no fallback for late transfers.

Stay safe. Lisk says it will never ask for your seed phrase or private keys. Use bridge.lisk.com only, type it yourself, and do not trust a link from anyone else.

The DAO and the burn. The Lisk DAO ran on the chain, so it ends with it. The Governance Forum and the DeGov voting integration are retired too. In August the press described the burn of 100 million LSK as a proposal. Lisk's FAQ now says the DAO proposal passed and the tokens are burned: a quarter of the supply, which is now 300 million LSK. The remaining treasury balance, about 46.5 million LSK, went to Lisk Ltd. Lisk Ltd also takes over the DAO's Arrakis vaults, to keep LSK tradable on Ethereum with low price impact.

What LSK becomes. According to CoinGecko and Crypto Briefing, LSK becomes the loyalty token of the new platform. Base is its main network, next to Ethereum. Businesses are meant to earn LSK for using the platform and for referrals, and later use it for fees. More uses are promised in phases. These are plans, not results.

The price. When we checked CoinGecko on 31 October 2026, at about 14:00 UTC, LSK was $0.299, up 41.4% in 24 hours. None of the pages we opened says why. In July Binance put LSK on its Monitoring Tag list, a delisting risk flag.

What we don't know. Why LSK is up today, the exact hour of the shutdown, and how much LSK is still on the Lisk Chain.

• Moving to Celo is optional for projects, and no funding or incentives should be assumed.^[1]
• Lisk is moving to a business finance platform. LSK becomes its loyalty token, on Base and Ethereum, with Base as the primary network.^[4][6]
• Binance extended its Monitoring Tag to LSK on 24 July 2026, which BeInCrypto calls a delisting risk flag.^[3]
• On 31 October 2026 CoinGecko showed LSK at $0.299, up 41.4% in 24 hours, with a 24-hour range of $0.1997 to $0.3152.^[6]
