ZetaChain plans to halt its blockchain and move ZETA to Solana

What happened. On November 4 ZetaChain published Governance Proposal 2. It sets the dates and the mechanism for moving the ZETA token to Solana. The direction was approved in September in Proposal 68, with 99.4% in favor. Voting on the new proposal runs 72 hours and closes November 7. The team says nothing moves until it passes.

How it would work. Every ZETA balance is recorded at block 20,755,000, expected around December 9, 2026. The snapshot covers liquid coins, staked coins, coins in the 21-day unbonding queue and unclaimed rewards. The ZetaChain chain halts at the same height and does not restart. The same amount of ZETA is minted on Solana as an SPL token, one to one, and then the mint authority is revoked.

How to claim. The portal at hub.zetachain.com/migrate opens December 9. You connect the wallet that held ZETA and sign a message naming a Solana wallet. There is no fee and no SOL needed. You need at least 10 ZETA at the snapshot to claim. Exchange balances convert without any action, and each exchange announces its own window. ZETA on Ethereum (ERC-20) is not changed. Hacken is reviewing the portal, and the team says the report comes out before it opens.

Supply and product. About 55 million ZETA meant for validators will be burned monthly through 2027, roughly 4.6 million a month. On the same day, December 9, the team launches ZetaLabs, an AI app for market research, where ZETA gives discounts and premium access.
