Cathie Wood's ARK buys Tempus AI and Illumina, trims Eli Lilly

What was bought. On Friday, October 30, ARK's funds bought 154,521 shares of Tempus AI (TEM): 93,407 through ARKK and 61,114 through ARKG. That is about $12,027,914. ARKK also bought 43,130 shares of Illumina (ILMN). ARKG added 133,767 shares of Pacific Biosciences (PACB), 22,687 shares of Beam Therapeutics (BEAM) and 64,483 shares of Arcturus Therapeutics (ARCT). ARKK bought another 346,507 shares of Pacific Biosciences. Together that is 480,274 shares worth $1,392,794.

What was sold. ARKK sold 17,626 shares of Eli Lilly (LLY) for $24,212,836. Lilly had just reported third-quarter results that beat expectations, according to Stocktwits. ARKG sold 50,859 shares of CareDx (CDNA) for $3,637,435. Bullish (BLSH) shares were sold through ARKF, ARKK and ARKW: 238,373 shares for $6,786,479.

Tempus AI in context. According to TheStreet, ARKK sold 58,371 Tempus shares on October 28 and 7,625 on October 29. The funds then bought it again. As of October 30, Tempus is the third-largest holding in ARKK: $415.8 million, or 5.77% of the fund. The company reports on November 2.

Note a mismatch. TheStreet's headline says $11.2 million, but its text values the same trade at about $12.0 million. We use the figure from the text and from Investing.com: $12,027,914.

What we do not know. In the sources we opened, ARK did not explain these trades. The idea that the Tempus purchase relates to earnings is TheStreet's guess. ARK's own site returned a 403 error to us, so we rely on three outlets that report its daily list. This is not a recommendation to buy or sell anything.
