O que aconteceu
Amundi, Europe's largest asset manager, launched a tokenised share class of its European equity index fund. The units are issued on the public Ethereum blockchain, built with CACEIS. The fund tracks the STOXX Europe 600 index.
Por que importa para você
Until now Amundi had tokenised only a money market fund. Now a plain equity index fund is on chain. It is a step toward buying and settling ordinary funds through a blockchain. The fund is still sold the usual way too.

What happened. On November 5 Amundi announced a tokenised share class of one of its flagship European equity index funds. Tokenisation means fund units are issued in digital form on a blockchain. The new share class was issued on the public Ethereum network.
How it works. It was built with CACEIS, a fund servicing company that provided the technology and infrastructure for tokenising fund units. The new class sits inside the fund's existing operating model, and the fund is still available through traditional channels.
Which fund. According to Cointelegraph, it is the fund tracking the STOXX Europe 600 index. The index covers 600 large, mid and small companies in developed European markets.
What came before. This is not Amundi's first step. It earlier launched a tokenised share class of a money market fund, also with CACEIS on Ethereum, plus subscriptions via stablecoins. Now tokenisation moves beyond cash management into index investing.
Why. Amundi says it wants to build a range of tokenised funds over time for institutional clients and digital platforms. The promised gains are automation of some processes, better access, fast settlement and transparency.
Context. RWA.xyz data cited by Cointelegraph put tokenised stocks at $4.24 billion on November 4, up nearly 27% over 30 days.
