Por que importa para você
PayPal is in the middle of a turnaround, and the market checks whether the new strategy shows up in the numbers. Adjusted profit beat the estimate, but revenue grew only 2% and GAAP EPS, the profit under standard US accounting rules, fell 4% to $1.25. That matters if you hold PYPL or a fund that includes it.
O que conferir e observar
The fourth-quarter outlook: adjusted EPS of about $1.43. Also watch restructuring costs, which weighed on GAAP profit. This is not advice to buy or sell.
What happened. On 27 October 2026 PayPal Holdings reported results for the third quarter, which ended on 30 September. Sales and volume. Net revenue rose 2% to $8.6 billion, or 1% in constant currency. AP reports that this missed the $8.7 billion analysts expected. Total payment volume, the value of all payments on the platform, rose 6% to $487.1 billion. Payment transactions rose 7% to 6.8 billion. Active accounts grew 0.6% to 440 million. U.S. revenue rose 5%, while international revenue fell 2%.
Profit. Adjusted EPS rose 8% to $1.45. Adjusted figures leave out items such as restructuring costs. GAAP EPS fell 4% to $1.25, and net income was $1.07 billion. GAAP operating income fell 8% to $1.4 billion, while adjusted operating income rose 3% to $1.6 billion. One detail: adjusted net income fell 3% to $1.245 billion, yet EPS rose, helped by a diluted share count that dropped to 858 million from 960 million.
