Por que importa para você
Foreign investors turned buyers again. They bought Rs 6,836.81 crore of Indian shares on November 3 (a crore is 10 million) after selling through September and early October. Brent crude is near $103 a barrel, against about $110 in recent weeks. India's finance minister also said she would consider foreign investors' request to review the LTCG tax on long-term gains.
O que conferir e observar
Watch whether foreign buying continues, whether Brent holds near $103 and whether the LTCG review becomes a real change. She only said she would consider it. This is an overview, not a forecast or advice.

What happened. On November 3 the Sensex rose 1,225.07 points to 76,917.85 and the Nifty rose 370.05 points to 23,810.85. Nearly Rs 4 lakh crore was added to the market value of BSE-listed companies, which now stands at Rs 486 lakh crore (The Times of India). On November 4 both indices rose again: the Sensex closed at 77,301.40 and the Nifty at 23,960.60. The IT index fell 2% and the media index rose 5% (Moneycontrol). In the four sessions to November 3 the Sensex gained 5% (The Hindu).
Reason one: foreign money is back. Foreign institutional investors were net sellers through September and the first half of October. They turned to buying in late October. On November 3 they bought Rs 6,836.81 crore of Indian shares, per exchange data cited by The Hindu. Analyst V.K. Vijayakumar of Geojit calls the reversal the main factor behind the new mood.
Reason two: cheaper oil. Brent stayed below $105 a barrel on November 3, against about $110 in recent weeks. On the morning of November 4 it traded at $103.2.
Reason three: tax talk. On November 2 Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the government would consider foreign investors' request to review the long-term capital gains (LTCG) tax. Jefferies says a cut could bring foreign investors back. That is an analyst's view. No change has been announced.
Reason four: the rupee and the AI trade. The rupee opened 0.26% higher at 94.6550 per dollar on November 3 and closed 10 paise higher at 94.64 on November 4. The Times of India notes that Indian stocks are increasingly seen as an anti-AI trade, so doubts about AI shares can help them. Vijayakumar says the AI trade has weakened, but he calls it a correction, not a crash.
What we do not know. Whether foreign buying lasts, whether the LTCG review leads to any change, and where oil goes next. A rally of five days says little about the sixth. This is an overview, not a forecast or advice.
