FAQ

Quick answers

How many Fed meetings are there in 2027?

Eight scheduled FOMC meetings, two days each: the first on January 26 – 27, the last on December 7 – 8. The Fed can call an unscheduled meeting at any time, as it did in March 2020.

Which 2027 meetings have the dot plot?

The members' projections (the Summary of Economic Projections with the dot plot) come out four times: March, June, September, December. Markets usually move more at these meetings.

What time does the Fed announce the decision?

At 2:00 pm New York time on the second day: 18:00 UTC in summer and 19:00 UTC in winter. The Chair's press conference starts 30 minutes later.

Why does it matter for crypto and stocks?

The Fed rate is the price of the dollar. When it is cut, money gets cheaper and flows more into risky assets like bitcoin and growth stocks; when it is raised, the opposite. That is why volatility is usually higher on decision day.

Where do the dates come from?

From the official FOMC calendar page on the Federal Reserve website. The Fed can change the dates; if it does, we update this page.
