What happened
Farside data shows net outflows of $1,607 million from US spot Ethereum ETFs in October. Money left on 19 of 22 trading days. SoSoValue also counts October as the worst month since the funds launched in July 2024. For comparison, bitcoin ETFs lost about $515 million over the month.
Why it matters to you
ETFs are the main route for big money into ETH. When the funds sell, the pressure on price grows. ETH fell about 16% in October, more than bitcoin. If you hold ETH or watch altcoins, these daily flows are worth checking.
What to check and watch
Watch the daily flows in early November: the first day of inflows would hint that selling is easing. The Fed's December decision matters too. This is an overview, not advice.
Where it’s happening
LIVEDrag to spin. Green dots: the exchange is trading right now (regular hours, holidays not counted). Shadow: where it is night now. Borders: Natural Earth, quakes: USGS. Layer idea: God’s Eye View (MIT).
The numbers. Farside Investors publishes flows for every US spot Ethereum ETF. Adding up the days of October 2026 gives minus $1,607 million. Of 22 trading days, only three saw inflows: October 13, 21 and 23. The worst day was October 6, minus $202 million. The last week was rough too, with $156 million leaving on October 30.
The record. SoSoValue data cited by Benzinga makes this the worst month for these funds since they were approved in July 2024. Before that they had three months of inflows in a row: $365 million in July, $1.85bn in August and $832 million in September. The previous outflow record, about $1.42bn, was set in November 2025.
The backdrop. Benzinga links the outflows to a cooling market: the Fear and Greed Index fell to 36 from 82 in August, US bond yields are rising, and the Fed raised rates in September and signals another hike in December. The $6.3bn Binance hack is weighing too.
Comparison. Bitcoin ETFs lost about $515 million in October and Solana ETFs about $143 million. So Ethereum funds lost the most, even though the ETH market is smaller than bitcoin's. Incrypted reports bitcoin fell more than 7% in October and ETH more than 16%.
Who it touches. Anyone holding ETH or Ethereum ecosystem tokens, and anyone who trades crypto on fund flows. ETF outflows do not mean the price must keep falling, but they show the mood of large buyers.
